Keep the Minds of Your Nurse Aides Fresh!
Your CNAs are some of your most important employees. They spend long hours with your clients- many of whom probably suffer from some of the diseases above. Therefore, it's important for them to keep critical information about these diseases fresh in their minds.
One way to motivate your CNAs to refresh their knowledge is by providing them with new and interesting inservice topics. Often, positive reinforcement is a huge motivator as well. Your praise will show your employees that you appreciate their everyday efforts and in turn, will give them that extra "push" to provide the best quality care. For example, be sure to praise your CNAs when they:
- Ask for help when they need it.
- Share their knowledge with others.
- Set goals for themselves.
- Approach their work creatively.
- Finish what they start.
- Volunteer for challenging assignments.
- Do their work better today than they did yesterday.
